Through New Eyes:

My goal as a painter has always been to make anyone viewing my work feel like they could walk right into the painting.  I was working with the composition to achieve this, and I loved the strong contrast of sun light.

My current work has a few changes; Let me tell you why and how.

A year ago I got some paintings back, which had been on exhibit for a long time.   I placed them in my studio gallery, and really looked them over.  In doing so they seemed somehow, flat to me.  I wanted to create more space, more depth.  I also wanted you, the viewer, to spend more time looking closely at my work.  I changed the color temperature in places, which helped to push my horizons further into the distance and at the same time pull some areas forward.  I added implied texture to the trees, to pull them closer.
